At Rogie Falls, there are pleasant forest walks
leading down to the falls themselves. From the highest point, there is a
good viewpoint.

"Rogie" is a Norse word meaning
"falling, leaping, river". Near to the footbridge shown above
is a viewpoint for the falls from which can be seen the fish ladder,
there to assist migrating salmon to climb to the upper reaches of the
river.
The river is the Blackwater River, so named because
of its peaty colour especially when in flood. Part of the forest walks
follow the river's edge which is very pretty with overhanging
foliage.
